That’s what McLeslie called me when I left Vamp night last week since I was very appropriately rocking my Ralph Lauren riding cape. I really want to wear it to work, but I’m not sure my office understands my style. Scratch that, I think my style is understood well enough, it’s my lack of style since winter break that’s probably confusing people. There are a few reasons for my slovenly appearance the last few weeks: 1) I literally have not done laundry in weeks and have the majority of my wardrobe piled on the chest at the foot of my bed rather than hanging in my closet. 2). It is Cold! Fashion has gone by the wayside in honor of wearing my UGG boots everyday until it a) warms up or b) someone tells me to stop!
Speaking of the weather, I woke up this morning and took my pathetic shivery, sweater-clad dogs outside to discover that a blanket of snow covered everything I could see! It was so beautiful! I ran in to see if work was cancelled (no such luck), then proceeded to check. My phone two more times in case I. Missed something. Nope. Still had to go in! No bother! I am super woman, off to work in 35 degree heat I go! I have to say, the prospect of getting into my car to drive was made that much more appealing by the fact that August had exceptionally thoughtfully cleared off the snow from my windshield, and started the car for me, so that it was actually quite comfortable to get into! Awwww…. Such a good husband. I’ll probably keep him.
Today was a really busy day, but even though they can be stressful, I find that I like. Busy days. They keep you occupied, and the day moves pretty quickly. I still managed to find time to run by whole foods for lunch. What is it about their salads that taste so much better than anything you bring from home? It’s a mystery…and a damage on the wallet. Sidebar to come some day on August’s deep hatred of Whole Foods.
Anyway, I planned to just run in, grab something quickly and head off to another meeting, when who should I run into in the parking lot? Marie!! So we had lunch together (omg, you have to try the carrot ginger soup. It’s so weird, it’s good!) and it was lovely!
While we’re on the subject of food, I’m going to step up and call out McLeslie. Someone awesome (ahem, me!) gave her the Harry Potter cookbook for Christmas, and I have been patiently waiting for some butter beer!
Anyone reading anything good? I’m a big reader, and always reading something, but I go through phases where I only want new material or I only want to re-read old books. I started re reading the Harry Potter series after New Years and finished it last weekend. I honestly love those books more each time. I’ve also really gotten into Susanna Kearsleys books… They’re sort of mystical and historical…they’re interesting. Right now I’m reading the latest Stephanie Plum book by Janet Evanovich- I think it’s called “Notorious Nineteen.” These books are so predictable now, but I still read every one of them because the author makes me laugh out loud. Yep, I’m that girl at lunch by myself, giggling at my book! Oh well…it could be way worse…right?
Happy 2013 to everyone. I hope you’ve successfully broken your silly resolutions (work put every single day- for the record I’ve exercised once this year) and kept your Important ones ( spend more time with family, learn a new skill, or maybe eat more queso). Hopefully I won’t go so long between posts next time! Back to Stephanie Plum!

Butter Beer and our Multi-course HP feast is in the works, I promise! Just need to get the house elves in gear to clean the place up and make sure Fitzwilliam is fit to fly… he holidays really put a damper on his flying physique!
